From our Pastor's Desk
There is no moment in which we realize ourselves better than when we place the interest of others above ours. In living for others, we become most similar to Christ our Lord and Savior, in whose Paschal Mysteries we are saved.
The desire to always place our interest first in everything is one that comes frequently into our minds. In most cases, we think that by focusing solely on that which we want we would surely reach our desired destination, even when it involves pushing aside the interest and well-being of all those around us. No attitude or disposition destroys and disintegrates our communities and our world more than this type of mindset and internal surge; and no deceit makes us lose everything dear to us more than this lie.
To help retrace people’s focus to the right track, the Apostle of the Gentiles, Saint Paul, wrote this beautiful summary of the life of our Lord Jesus Christ which we heard in today’s Second Reading which is popularly known as “the kenosis– the self-emptying of Christ.” The kenotic style of life is life rooted in living for others. Living for the uplifting of others and in living the realization that the true measure of our self-realization and fulfillment is our ability to be a beacon for the self-realization and fulfillment of others. What else could be a perfect demonstration of the life of Christ who is the Emmanuel, the God with us. In emptying Himself for us, Jesus Christ accomplished His true identity and mission.

Rooted in Christ: Consecration to Jesus through Mary & Eucharistic Adoration
"As you received Christ Jesus the Lord, walk in him, rooted in him and built upon him and established in the faith." Colossians 2:6–7
A plant can only grow as strong as its roots.
Throughout this month, Seeds of Growth has invited us to think about our own roots—those who planted the faith before us, the seeds we are planting for the future, and our decision to put down roots within our parish family.
But where do those roots find their strength? In Jesus Christ.
This weekend, we are invited to deepen those roots through Consecration to Jesus through Mary and through a personal commitment to spend time with Jesus in Eucharistic Adoration in our Blessed Sacrament Chapel.
Mary always leads us to her Son. Prepare yourself by participating in the Consecration to Jesus through Mary. And in the Blessed Sacrament, Jesus waits for us—to listen, to strengthen us, to bring us peace and to help our faith grow. Consider committing to a regular hour of Adoration. Bring your prayers, your worries, your gratitude—and simply spend time with Him.
A plant needs water and light to grow. Our souls need to remain close to Christ.
When our roots are deep in Him, our faith can flourish—and together, so can our parish.

The Knights of Columbus of our parish (Council #14212) cordially invite all families to consecrate their homes to the love and protection of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Enthronement is a profound act of faith in which we place an image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in a place of honor in our home, acknowledging Him as King, Guide, Friend, and Protector of the family.
When we open the doors of our home, Jesus promises us peace within our families, abundant blessings, and a safe refuge. If you would like your family to receive guidance on the preparation and blessing of the image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, please register as follows:
- Registration: August 2nd to October 2nd, 2026 (preparatory period).
- How to register? Members of the Knights of Columbus will be at the lobby after Sunday Masses, or you may send a WhatsApp message to Mario Alonzi, Faith Director for the Knights of Columbus, at (954) 909-2026.
- Date of blessing and consecration: The weekend of the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe—Saturday, November 21st, and Sunday, November 22nd.

Sign Up for a Weekly Holy Hour
Jesus asks us to come spend time with him. When he asked the apostles to come pray with him, it is because he wanted their presence and company. In the same way today, he invites us to come be with him. When we come into his presence, graces are given. When graces are given to us, we are less inclined to sin and more inspired to do the will of our Father. At the same time, when we are with Jesus, he will shower his blessings onto our families because his love overflows from us into our community. And, when we are with Jesus in front of the Blessed Sacrament, all the angels and saints are with us as we are in the "eternal now" and all of these visits are remembered by our Lord God.
If you are with the Lord, imagine the peace that will come since you are with the Prince of Peace. He is greater than any struggle or problem we can bring to him, so He invites us to leave the struggle with him which gives us a renewed peace. And, since he wants us to cooperate with his graces, the holy hour will often reveal answers to situations that we are pondering. He gives us peace and often gives us answers. When we receive the answers, they may seem difficult. However, when we spend time with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, he gives us the strength and fortitude to do what we know we must do. In private prayer, I may know the answer and I may ask for the strength to do what must be done, but in front of the Blessed Sacrament, he can give us this strength since he is there with us. We have the ability to be resolute in our decision.
Another great benefit is that it improves our relationship with the one we hope to spend eternity with. Our prayer becomes more a part of who we are and helps us integrate our prayer into our day-to-day decisions and life we live. It gives us more sincerity and depth to our prayer life and teaches us a multitude of ways to pray. We are able to listen to Jesus (since we will eventually run out of things to say) and then he can fortify our belief and knowledge of how much he loves us; that He, the Father, created us and that we in turn should truly love ourselves and know that our love for ourselves will call us to be more for others who God also loves and therefore we love more deeply. He will tell us and we will know the purpose of our lives and the way He is calling us to live our lives. Through this deeper understanding of prayer, we will come to better understand the important things in life and spend more time focusing on them in prayer and in action and know the things that are distractions and give them their due priority and attention.
We will desire to come to prayer more often and to make our Holy Hour more often, which will be like tithing our time: the more time we give to the Lord, the more time we will have for what we need to do. This keeps us from stressing on how busy we are or how full our calendar is because the Lord is helping us get done what He knows is most important.
So, come to the place where the Lord will help us know Him, know ourselves, give Him our worries, relax, find peace, know our purpose, have the courage to do what is asked by Him and leave knowing we are doing His will helping others find their relationship with the Lord. Please sign up for a Holy Hour each week; do not be afraid to make that commitment with God.
