The Ministry of Marriage and Family at Saint Katharine Drexel (SKD) Parish in Weston, FL, emerged as a natural evolution of the Marriage Pastoral Ministry that had been offered since 2007. This apostolic initiative was driven by a group of married parishioners and members of the Family Branch of the Schoenstatt Apostolic Movement in Miami, with the purpose of strengthening and accompanying couples in their marital and family journey.
The Call to Conjugal Holiness
This ministry is made up of married couples from the parish who work with the goal of accompanying, educating, and strengthening marital relationships, promoting sacramental commitment, and, at the same time, linking marriages to the SKD community. Its mission is to provide tools for couples to live a happy, lasting marital life, centered on the Catholic faith, thus forming small domestic churches.
The vocation of this ministry is based on fundamental principles found in the teachings of the Church, such as mutual love, respect, and sacramental commitment in marriage.

The Ministry of Marriage and Family at SKD offers a series of activities to accompany couples and strengthen family unity.
1. Formation Workshops:
Quarterly workshops and seminars are organized to promote the growth and strengthening of marriages. In these meetings, topics such as dialogue, conflict resolution, forgiveness, intimacy, parenting, and family prayer are addressed, all based on Catholic principles.
2. Marriage Retreat:
The "Renewing Love is Worth It" retreat is held annually with the goal of helping couples rekindle their relationship and rediscover the richness of their marital identity. This weekend retreat offers them the opportunity to work together on strengthening their relationship and spiritual growth.
3. Activities to Strengthen the Couple's Relationship:
Events such as dinners, retreats, and recreational activities are promoted, allowing couples to spend quality time together, improve their relationship, and strengthen their bond.
4. Marriage Accompaniment:
Trained couples offer one-on-one, free support to those experiencing crises. The goal is to accompany them in learning dialogue, resolving disagreements, and creating agreements that strengthen the relationship.

5. Promotion of Healthy Marriage Models:
The ministry seeks to promote examples of strong marriages, grounded in Christian principles, so that couples can learn from them and apply those same values in their daily lives.

El Ministerio de Matrimonio y Familia de la parroquia Santa Katharine Drexel (SKD) en Weston, FL, surgió como una evolución natural de la Pastoral Matrimonial que se ofrecía desde 2007. Esta iniciativa apostólica fue impulsada por un grupo de matrimonios feligreses y miembros de la Rama de Familia del Movimiento Apostólico de Schoenstatt en Miami, con el propósito de fortalecer y acompañar a las parejas en su caminar matrimonial y familiar.
El Llamado a la Santidad Conyugal
Este ministerio está formado por matrimonios de la parroquia que trabajan con el objetivo de acompañar, educar y fortalecer las relaciones matrimoniales, promover el compromiso sacramental y, al mismo tiempo, vincular a los matrimonios con la comunidad SKD. Su misión es proporcionar herramientas para que vivan una vida matrimonial feliz, duradera y centrada en la fe católica, formando así pequeñas iglesias domésticas.
La vocación de este ministerio se basa en principios fundamentales que se encuentran en las enseñanzas de la Iglesia, tales como el amor mutuo, el respeto y el compromiso sacramental en el matrimonio.

El Ministerio de Matrimonio y Familia de SKD ofrece una serie de actividades para acompañar a las parejas y fortalecer la unidad familiar.
1. Talleres de Formación:
Se organizan trimestralmente talleres y seminarios destinados al crecimiento y fortalecimiento de los matrimonios. En estos encuentros se abordan temas como el diálogo, la resolución de conflictos, el perdón, la intimidad, la educación de los hijos y la oración familiar, todos basados en los principios católicos.
2. Retiro de Matrimonios:
El retiro "Renovar el Amor Vale la Pena" se realiza anualmente, con el objetivo de ayudar a los matrimonios a reavivar su relación y redescubrir la riqueza de su identidad matrimonial. Este retiro de un fin de semana les ofrece la oportunidad de trabajar juntos en el fortalecimiento de su relación y crecimiento espiritual.
3. Actividades para Fortalecer la Relación de Pareja:
Se promueven eventos como cenas, retiros y actividades recreativas que permiten a las parejas pasar tiempo de calidad juntas, mejorar su relación y fortalecer su vínculo.
4. Acompañamiento Matrimonial:
Matrimonios capacitados ofrecen apoyo uno a uno gratuito a aquellas parejas que atraviesan crisis. El objetivo es acompañarlas en el aprendizaje del diálogo, la resolución de desacuerdos y la creación de acuerdos que fortalezcan la relación.

5. Fomento de Modelos de Matrimonio Saludables:
Se busca promover ejemplos de matrimonios sólidos, fundamentados en principios cristianos, para que las parejas puedan aprender de ellos y aplicar esos mismos valores en su vida diaria.
En un mundo donde las relaciones matrimoniales y familiares enfrentan desafíos constantes, el Ministerio de Matrimonio y Familia de SKD ofrece un espacio de acompañamiento, crecimiento y renovación, con el firme propósito de que cada matrimonio viva su vocación con alegría, paz y unidad en Cristo.
